Florida Requirements Complete

XpertHR is on track to have all 50 states and the District of Columbia by the end of July. We are completing states on a rolling basis until then and are now up to 36 states with the completion of Florida this week.

Our Florida Employment Law Coverage

XpertHR covers the complete spectrum of labor and employment law for Florida employers. For example, did you know:

  • Several Florida counties and cities have enacted ordinances prohibiting discrimination in employment that are broader than The Florida Civil Rights Act and Title VII.
  • In Florida, verbal employment offers are generally not recognized as employment contracts. Florida courts have ruled that verbal offers that do not specify a length of time are at-will employment offers. For example, verbal offers stating that the job is "permanent," or will "last as long as the company is in business" have been rejected as binding by Florida courts.
  • Private employers are not required by Florida law to provide sick leave. However, state employers must have guidelines in place for the accrual and use of public employee sick leave time.

This is but a taste of the depth and breadth provided to our Florida subscribers!
